A new huge family-friendl festival has been announced for this summer in East Lothian, just a 40-minute drive from Edinburgh.
Out East describes itself as a "fun-loving festival for the carefree, the intrepid and the brave" and will take place in the socially distanced grounds of Gosford House in Longniddry this August.
As well as music and arts, the new festival will offer wellbeing events, incredible street food and open-air dancing.
Located in the grounds of the East Lothian mansion, the festival's first headliner has been announced as the Ministry of Sound, a 34-piece orchestra that will perform iconic dance classics, completely rearranged and reinterpreted for 2021.
The second act to be announced is Clean Bandit (DJ set). Clean Bandit have consistently pushed the boundaries of modern pop with their diverse blend of influences. ‘Rather Be’, ‘Rockabye’ and ‘Symphony’ are just some of the multi-million selling hits that have seen them smash the top 10 music chart.
The festival will boast eight areas including its main stage, kids stage, food market, woodland trail and campsite.
Festival Director, Shane Grieve said, ‘We wanted to create something that was a celebration of good times. We’ve sourced a mix of live performances and entertainment to make sure that there’s something special for every member of the family.
"It is also extremely important to us that we look out for each other so we have launched a Friendship policy. We want everyone that visits Out East to have the best time - but not at the expense of others. There will of course be official security at the festival but we’re asking everyone to take responsibility for their behaviour and to look out for each other."
