East Lothian Royal British Legion club shuts and staff tested amid Covid case

The Dunbar Royal British Legion has had to close temporarily after the club was told of a positive Covid test result.

Its social club has been closed with immediate effect, while staff take tests to ensure there has not been a full-blown outbreak.

Bosses will also undertake a full deep clean in order to prioritise both staff and the general public's safety.

The Dunbar Royal British Legion posted the update on its Facebook page stating they will 'update as soon as we know more.'

In the local authority area of East Lothian, the Dunbar East region has seen a rise in positive cases amongst the population, with 11 cases being reported over the last week.

The 7 day positivity rate has dropped to 236 from 364.7, but the case rate is still well above the level three restrictions threshold of 150 per 100,000.

Overall, the East Lothian area has a 7 day positivity rate of 134.5, meaning the area is above the level two restriction threshold.

East Lothian are currently under Level One restrictions, but as cases continue to climb across the country, all eyes are on First Minister Nicola Sturgeon as the public awaits her next announcement.
