East Lothian police warn parents 'watch your children' after teens destroy school

Police have warned parents to be more aware of their child's movements after a series of vandalism at a local primary school.

Officers in East Lothian are now investigating after a host of "anti-social behaviour" at Cockenzie primary.

Despite the school being closed for lockdown, incidents have been occurring over half term on the grounds.

According to police, the behaviour has ranged frrom smashed bottles and playground damage to serious acts of vandalism.

These have included an entire garden area maintained by the school's children being destroyed.

Today, officers have urged parents in the area to be aware of where their children are if they are not at home, and if their outing is essential.

Extra patrols will now be carried out in the area in the hope of ending the teenagers' tirades.
