East Lothian police patrol town after further Lothian Bus attack

East Lothian police have launched a public appeal for help after another attack on Lothian Buses.

PC Nixon from the Prestonpans Community Policing Team is appealing for witnesses in relation to damage caused to a bus window which occurred in the East Lothian town on Preston Road at about 1700 hours on 14/03/2021.

In an image shared online, it can be seen that the daytime 'dangerous act' caused a smashed window on the bus - although it has not been specified how the window was smashed.

Patrols have been made in the area which will continue however PC Nixon is appealing for help from members of the public who may have any information relating to this incident.

PC Nixon stated “This incident, while not only causing a financial loss to Lothian Busses is a dangerous act which could have had a more severe outcome. If you have any information please call 101 quoting incident number 2454 of 14/03/2021 or CR/016805/21.”

The news comes after Lothian Buses were forced to suspend all services twice in the past week due to ongoing antisocial attacks on their drivers.

Police have been carrying out proactive patrols around Edinburgh, including in the south east of the city, and say they've spoken to more than 100 young people about the dangers associated with throwing objects at buses.
