East Lothian police launch probe into mystery death of 66-year-old man

Police Scotland has launched an investigation into the death of a 66-year-old man who was found dead in an East Lothian property yesterday afternoon.

At around 4.55pm yesterday, Tuesday afternoon (23 March 2021), East Lothian police officers were alerted to the sudden death within a property on Forth Street, North Berwick.

Officers are currently treating the death of the 66-year-old man as 'unexplained'.

A report on the incident will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Edinburgh Live: “Officers were made aware around 4.55pm on Tuesday of a report of a sudden death within a property on Forth Street, North Berwick, East Lothian.

“The body of a 66-year-old man was found and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
