East Lothian police hunt mindless vandals that launched 'boulder' at chippy

Police are on the hunt for mindless vandals that launched a "boulder" at a business in East Lothian over the weekend.

In a vandalism spree, two Dunbar businesses in the town centre were targetted on Friday and Saturday.

At around 10pm on Friday, The Makery was first to be hit, as vandals kicked the window and front door.

This was followed by a further incident sometime between 11:30pn on Saturday and 7am on Sunday when large boulders were launched at Central Cafe.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "About 10.20pm on Friday 7th May, the window to the front door of The Makery, 98 High Street was kicked and glass damaged.

"Between 11.30pm on Saturday 8th and 7am on Sunday 9th of May, a window to the Central Cafe, 6 West Port, Dunbar was smashed after what appeared to be large boulders being struck or thrown against this.

"Positive lines of enquiry are currently being followed. Local Community officers PCs Hutchison and Bamford are appealing for anyone who may have information about these incidents to contact them on 101 quoting incident 0938 of 9th May.
