East Lothian police hunt elderly man who assaulted woman with his bag at North Berwick park

Police in East Lothian are searching for an elderly man who assaulted a woman in a North Berwick park using his bag.

Police are appealing for any information that may help with the ongoing enquiry into the minor assault which took place on 30th October 2020 between 1245pm and 1pm.

The incident occurred at the main entrance of the lodge grounds at East Road, just past the 'Archway', whereby an elderly white male assaulted a female with his bag.

He is described as 5ft 8, stocky build with grey hair, at the time of the incident he was wearing a hair band and a rain coat.

Police have said that it is believed that a lady who was walking her dog stopped to help the female, however officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident.

Anyone who may have information on the assault is asked to contact 101 and quote the reference number 1827 of the 30th October 2020.
