East Lothian passengers facing long delays this morning after train breaks down

Commuters travelling in from North Berwick in East Lothian to Edinburgh are facing long delays this morning after a train has broken down on the tracks.

The Sleeper service has broken down in the Abbeyhill area to the east of the city, which is affecting East Lothian services, between Edinburgh and North Berwick, and Borders services, between Edinburgh and Tweedbank.

The incident is leading to long delays and cancellations of some services, causing commuter hell for passengers trying to get to work this morning.

ScotRail passengers affected by the delays can use tickets on board Borders Buses - between Edinburgh Waverley, Eskbank, Newtongrange, Gorebridge, Stow, Galashiels on bus route X95 -and on Lothian buses services - between Edinburgh, Brunstane, Newcraighall, Shawfair, Eskbank, Newtongrange, Gorebridge and Edinburgh, Musselburgh, Wallyford and Prestonpans.

A spokesperson for ScotRail also announced that they have organised two AAA coaches from North Berwick to Edinburgh that will leave at 9:30am.
