East Lothian ice cream parlour crowned 'best in Scotland' for unreal flavours

An East Lothian ice-cream parlour has been crowned as the best in the business for the third year running.

Alandas in North Berwick is known for its tasty dishes, from the seafood van out on the coast to the hundreds of different gelato flavours they have whipped up over the years.

This week, the parlour were once again honoured for their devotion to the sweet treat and bagged the award from the Royal Highland Show once again.

Done using a blind taste test, judges sampled flavours from over 90 different ice-cream makers around Scotland, leaving no room for error.

After being presented with the award from top industry experts, Alandas took to social media to thank their customers for their support once again.

They added: "We feel very honoured to be presented with this award again and would like to thank all of our loyal customers that have supported us along the way SCOTLANDS BEST ICE CREAM 2021."

As well as the classics, Alandas have been known to experiment with some more unique and individual flavours, such as a panettone at Christmas time, or even a lemon, raspberry and poppy seed to mark Armistice Day.

All made in East Lothian, the cream and milk are sourced from a nearby dairy before being "infused with an array of quality ingredients native to each of the seasons" in North Berwick.
