A 22-year-old was rushed to hospital and remains in critical condition after the incident at 10.20pm on Friday.
Scotland Yard said no arrests had been made as of Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident less than an hour earlier, a man was shot by two assailants on a moped in Hackney.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Amhurst Road, at 9.30pm on Friday. The victim, thought to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital where his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
