East Kilbride Thistle appoint coaches for final games of the season

East Kilbride Thistle have appointed Tam Barclay and Dougie Ryan to take charge of the club for their final games of the season.

The Jags parted company with Steven McClung and Colin Mitchell on Saturday after the duo discover their jobs were being touted to others. That led to both resigning from their roles.

The search is on to find a new permanent manager with the club posting on their official Twitter account on Monday that they are welcoming applications for the job.

In the meantime, Barclay and Ryan, a striker at the club, have been placed in charge.

Last night they got off to a winning start when they came from behind to record a 2-1 victory away to Wishaw.

The hosts took a first-half lead before Ryan led by example, grabbing the equaliser on the hour mark after good work by Scott Gillespie.

Gillespie grabbed the winner four minutes from time to make it four league wins on the spin for the Jags, who have climbed two places to seventh in West Region One.

The Jags now face Shettleston away on Saturday, kick-off 2pm, before closing out the season at home to Glasgow Perthshire on May 18.
