An East Kilbride soft play centre is delighted to be welcoming families through its doors for the first time in 16 months following the move to level zero of coronavirus restrictions.
Wonder World is based in College Milton and, along with centres across Scotland, closed in March 2020 ahead of the first coronavirus lockdown.
Lanarkshire’s facilities had remained closed for nearly 500 days with the county having consistently been in level two or above until recently.
This led to campaigners from the industry protesting outside the Scottish Parliament calling for restrictions on them operating to be lifted with safety measures in place.
There were stark warnings from those who operate soft play centres that the whole sector was at risk of failing.

But while they have been closed, Wonder World have made sure they have come back better than ever with fun-filled new equipment to keep kiddies entertained.
Tom Kennett, of the Wonder World Group, told Lanarkshire Live : “We are delighted to re-open our East Kilbride venue after a long closure due to COVID restrictions.
"We have invested significantly in the venue in terms of new attractions including our new Peppa Pig themed toddler area and our Wonder World Express train ride, and refurbishments across our play, communal and café areas too.

"We have adapted our business model to offer two-hour play sessions throughout the day under reduced capacity.
"That is supported by comprehensive cleaning and safety procedures being carried out between each session, ensuring the safety of our staff and customers is not compromised at any time."
Sessions can be booked via its new website and booking system.
