East Kilbride site manager wins top place in national housebuilding awards

Site manager Iain Alexander has been named in Scotland's top 10 for his leadership at the Benthall Farm development in East Kilbride.

Iain picked up a Seal of Excellence in this year’s NHBC annual Pride in the Job Awards which follows a recent promotion to production manager for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland.

Organised by NHBC, the UK’s leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes, the awards are the most highly regarded in the house building industry.

They recognise site managers dedicated to achieving the highest standards in house building and committed to building homes of outstanding quality for their customers.

Judging for the awards is rigorous, with each site manager assessed across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety.

Iain has previous success in the annual awards, having picked up seven Pride in the Job Quality Awards, two previous Seal of Excellence Awards, and the top regional award in 2019.

He told Lanarkshire Live : “This is a fantastic honour.

"Not just for me, but for the whole team at Benthall Farm. Everyone works incredibly hard and takes great pride in ensuring that the homes we build are completed to the highest possible standards.

"I’m leaving the site in the best possible hands and I’m very excited to have started my new role as production manager for our East Scotland business.”

Brian Henderson from Taylor Wimpey added: “Iain’s hard work and dedication is evident in every home built at Benthall Farm – he’s been within the top ten site managers in Scotland for the past few years, so I am very pleased to see him recognised again this year.

"We wish him every success in his new role with our colleagues in the East of Scotland.”
