An East Kilbride singer says he cannot wait for the return of live music as he gets set to release new music.
Steven Young was the frontman of indie band The Imagineers, but now focuses on his own solo material.
With The Imagineers he travelled all over the world playing music, but is now settled on his own unique song writing and solo music.
His latest single was released last week. Titled ' Tangerine Drugstore' this is Steven's third single since going solo.
He told Lanarkshire Live : “I recorded the song at Infinity Bus studio in Glasgow, but also recorded parts at home during lockdown.
“The song is about an experience I had in an old relationship and is a bit of a departure from the sound people may be used to with my material.
“I take big inspiration from a lot of 60s artists, but also some modern artists like The Last Shadow Puppets and Radiohead.”
With the release of this new song and the gradual easing of coronavirus restrictions, Steven is looking forward to finally having the chance to get back on stage and perform.
“Gigs are so important for musicians and it is a huge part of why I continue to make and put music out there.
“I had two song releases at the height of COVID and now this third one towards what seems like the end, so I’ve never actually had a chance to play my solo tunes to a crowd.
“I’ve missed playing and seeing people in crowds a lot.
"It is a feeling that is impossible to replicate.”
“ Tangerine Drugstore ” is available now on all major platforms.
You can find Steven on social media as well, such as Facebook and Twitter.
