East Kilbride rocker's The Jesus And Mary Chain have delayed their tour amid Coronavirus concerns

Cult rockers The Jesus and Mary Chain have been forced to postpone their upcoming tour across the UK and Europe.

It is believed that this is due to concerns around mass gatherings amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement posted on the bands social media, they said: "The Jesus and Mary Chain UK and European tour has to be postponed because of the various restrictions that have been placed on concerts in many cities.

"We are trying to reschedule and will announce more on that ASAP.

"All tickets remain valid for rescheduled shows, but ticket holders can get a refund from the point of purchase."

This includes scheduled dates at Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom and the recently announced gig at Stereo.
