East Kilbride police incident: Woodland area taped off by officers amid late-night assault probe

Police have taped off a wooded area next to a street in East Kilbride following reports of a late-night assault.

Officers were called to the scene near Greenhills Road in the Craiglee area after the alarm was raised around 9:45pm last night (September 22).

Police say that enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, with officers remaining at the scene today.

They have also urged anyone with information on the incident to get in contact with them.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police were called around 9.45pm on Wednesday, 22 September, 2021 following the report of an assault near Greenhills Road, East Kilbride.

"Officers attended and enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3582 of 22/09/21."
