East Kilbride police incident: Person rushed to hospital after being found injured by train tracks

A person was rushed to hospital after being found injured by the train tracks at East Kilbride.

British Transport Police officers were called to the scene after the alarm was raised at around 9.30pm.

The person was then taken to hospital and their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Scotrail confirmed the line was temporarily closed between East Kilbride and Busby while the emergency services responded to the incident.

A British Transport Police spokesperson advised this morning: "Officers were called to the line near East Kilbride at 9.34pm yesterday (Monday 19 July) following reports of an injured person by the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended and a person was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening."
