East Kilbride photographer crochet-bombs Hairmyres Hospital in rainbows to lift spirits

Hairmyres Hospital has been crochet-bombed with all the colours of the rainbow.

The feel good display is the handiwork of local photographer Karen Scott whose knitting and crocheting hobby is keeping her busy during the outbreak.

Yarnbombing is a whimsical knit grafitti phenomenon which spreads positivity. Therefore Karen’s display serves as a fitting tribute to our NHS heroes.

Karen, who shares her hobby on Facebook as KraftyKazEK, told the East Kilbride News: “I just wanted to put a smile on people’s faces and let the NHS staff know they are appreciated.

“So I crochet-bombed Hairmyres Hospital with rainbows. I’ve had really postive feedback and Hairmyres Hospital even retweeted my post.”

Karen is now raising donations for frontline NHS staff by giving away a crocheted ‘Frontline Hero Bear’ she knitted.

To be in with a chance of winning the cuddly creation, all you have to do is like and share her Facebook page ‘KraftyKazEK’ and make a donation to the NHS through her JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kraftykazek

The winner will be selected at the end of April.
