A 65-year-old woman has died following a large fire at Sadlers Wells Court last night.
The alarm was raised around 10.20pm last night and around five fire engines attended the scene.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Police were called to a report of a fire at a property on Sadlers Wells Court, East Kilbride, around 10.30pm on Thursday, 23 January.
"The fire was extinguished by the SFRS and the body of a 65-year-old woman was recovered from the property.
"A post mortem will take place in due course to establish the cause of death.
"A joint investigation will be carried out with the SFRS to establish the cause of the fire."
Services were still on the scene as of this morning.
