East Kilbride man missing for 9 days as family plead 'please phone home'

An East Kilbride man's family are appealing for help after he went missing from a hospital in Hamilton.

It is claimed that James Reid was found unconscious last Friday and taken to hospital where he signed himself out the next day at around 11pm.

The 44-year-old is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall with grey hair and blue eyes.

Step-daughter Cody Falconer has taken to social media to appeal for help.

She posted :"All we want to know is that he’s fine.

"He has now been gone for nine days. Please, please just contact someone Jamie and say you're okay.

"We’re all willing to help you. Please phone home.

"Jamie Reid last seen in the area leaving the hospital on the 24th of June."

Inspector Stevie Bryson, from Hamilton Police Station, said: "Jamie has been missing for a number of days now. This is out of character for him and his family are understandably worried.

"We have a number of police resources dedicated to tracing him and I am now looking for assistance from the public.

"If you believe you have seen Jamie or have any information please contact 101 quoting incident 2469 of the 30th June."
