East Kilbride loan star Stanger could be reunited with Stuart Malcolm at Forfar

George Stanger looks set to leave East Kilbride with his parent club Hamilton Accies keen for him to play at a higher level.

And the News understands that could lead to the New Zealand U21 international being reunited with former Kilby boss Stuart Malcolm at Forfar.

Stanger joined EK in September to boost Kilby’s hopes of retaining the Lowland League title, but they sit eighth in the table and 22 points off the leaders.

The 19-year-old defender was brought to K-Park by Malcolm before he left for League One and EK interim boss Jim Paterson revealed it is likely Stanger will be move on in the next few days.

He said: “We are trying to keep George until the end of the season, but I think his parent club want to see him tested at a higher level.

“We’d love to keep him a little longer, but that won’t be up to us.

“I know Stuart is a fan of Stanger, but I’m sure he won’t be the only one looking at him.”
