East Kilbride grandad wins brand new £43,000 Tesla and £20,000 in cash

A grandad from East Kilbride scooped a brand-new Tesla and a briefcase stuffed with £20,000 cash in the "best day of his life."

Andrew Boyle, 58, thought he was dreaming when BOTB’s Christian Williams turned up at his house in East Kilbride to tell him he’d won the brand-new Tesla Model 3 in the BOTB online car competition.

“This is absolutely astonishing,” he said. “I’ve never won anything in my life!"

The father-of-three has been playing BOTB for more than a year had his eyes particularly on the Model 3 for months before he won it.

“The electric Teslas absolutely fascinate me,” he gushed. “They’re beautiful to look at, so sleek inside and the performance is just brilliant. But the main thing that interests me is how good they are for the environment - I’m keen to do my bit for the planet.

“I’ve never actually sat in an electric car let alone driven one - I can’t wait to take it for a spin.”

But the surprise wasn’t finished there, as Christian had £20,000 in cash waiting for Andrew in the boot of the car.

“Oh my gosh. Wow! This is absolutely the best day of my life,” Andrew said.

“That £20,000 will be such a huge help to us although I’m sure it won’t last long with the five grandchildren.

“I’ve got some things around the house to do and some other bits, too, but I certainly don’t need to buy a new car.

"I think I'm in a dream. I cannot thank you guys enough."

BOTB’s Christian Williams, who surprises winners every week, was thrilled to give Andrew the good news.

The grandad finally picked up his new motor last week and is looking forward to giving it a spin.

Christian said: “It was a wet and windy day in Glasgow but it was definitely not a miserable day for Andrew - what a car and what a guy, he was thrilled!

“I absolutely love surprising the BOTB winners each week and Andrew was no exception. He’s played for a fantastic car and I really hope he enjoys it.”
