Two talented gymnasts could miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime chance to represent Team GB in Mexico - because their particular discipline isn't given the necessary funding.
East Kilbride girls Brenna, 17, and Mia, 14, have been selected to perform at the Acrobatic Gymnastics Pan American Championships in Monterey, Mexico, for their country, in November next year.
However the duo are having fund the entire trip themselves and have launched a fundraising appeal to ensure they and their two coaches can make it to Mexico, with their sport unfunded for this competition.
Mia's mum Lynda Hogg said: "The girls are extremely dedicated to their sport. They have been a pair for the last four years and their bronze medal in the British Championships this year is just one of a number of achievements for these very talented girls.
"They train tirelessly, with the fantastic support, encouragement and expertise from their coaches Eilidh and Kellyanne.
"After winning the bronze medal at this years British Championships, they have been selected to compete in the 12-18 Womens Pair category for Great Britain.
"This competition is unfunded for the gymnasts and their coaches and any funds raised from this page will help fund their trip and their Team GB kit which they need to compete."
The girls have already met 50 per cent of their £3,000 target.
