East Kilbride FC Girls enjoy feast of football in the sun

Despite the hottest temperatures of the year so far, East Kilbride FC Girls kept their cool over the recent holiday weekend.

The four teams – the under 9’s, 11’s, 13’s and 15’s teams – played some fantastic football to score a combined total of more than 40 goals over the weekend, with three of the teams also keeping it tight at the back to earn a clean sheet.

Proud East Kilbride coach Iain Robson said: “Despite the many obstacles the girls have faced trying to play football over the past 15 months, each and every one of them has show their commitment in training every single week.

“As well as Covid, the girls have had to train in some absolutely abysmal weather this year, but their commitment and determination is showing in the results now.”

All girls, in all age groups are welcome to come and join the team.

Due to the upsurge of participation in the girls game we the club are very keen on anyone able to volunteer a few hours a week to join their coaching team.
