East Kilbride family offer reward in search for beloved pet cat

An East Kilbride family are offering a reward in a bid to be reunited with their missing cat.

David and Angela Gillies lat saw their beloved family pet, Django, last Tuesday night around 9pm.

He went missing from their Maple Terrace home and is chipped and neutered and wearing a light blue bandana collar.

They are now appealing for locals to keep an eye-out and to check garages and sheds.

The ginger was missing missing for a month when he was just a kitten, five years ago.

And it was thanks to an East Kilbride News appeal that he made it back home.

David told the News: "He is a well-loved and well-looked after family pet and we are desperate to get him back.

"I have posted on all the websites I can think of and am planning to put posters up that I have ordered.

"The only other time he has been away for more than 24 hours was when he was a kitten.

"He ended up in Newlandsmuir which is quite a distance away. It was after someone who had taken him in saw an appeal in the EK News from my step-daughter that we got him back.

"We really want him home, I'm an essential worker and my partner is at home a lot and he is her main company - he never leaves her side."

David added: "He is a friendly and curious wee thing but he has never stayed away for more than 24 hours - not since he was a kitten. We are willing to offer a reward to anyone who can help in his safe return."
