East Kilbride boss Chris Aitken hopes to end 2021 on a high by getting revenge on Cumbernauld Colts for the defeat they dished out earlier in the season.
In September, Colts came to K-Park and inflicted a shock 2-0 derby defeat on Kilby to put a major dent in their Lowland League title aspirations.
And EK who are now sixth in the table and 16 points adrift of runaway leaders Bonnyrigg Rose, will be out to atone for that disappointment when they meet Colts again at Broadwood tonight, while also bidding to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat at home to Celtic B on December 21 that ended a fantastic unbeaten run.
Aitken said: “When we last played Cumbernaulf they turned us over so we want to go and put that right.
"We are a different animal to the team we were last time we played and we will be desperate to bounce back from the Celtic game as well.
“After the Celtic game I had a good chat with them and there was no need to rant and rave.
“It was all about thanking them for what they’ve done so far and challenging them to win the final 13 games of the season we have left.
“We know what we are going to get from them and they have good individual players that we know, like Graeme Holmes and Sean Winter.
“But it is up to us to go and put our mark on the game.
“We’ve assessed where we went wrong against Celtic and we'll pick a team that can go to Cumbernauld and take all three points.”
Tonight's clash against Colts, who sit 16th in the Lowland League, kicks-off at 7.45pm.
