East Kilbride boss eyes new striker as Anton Brady heads for Stranraer

East Kilbride caretaker boss Chris Aitken hopes to add a new striker "either today or tomorrow", as midfielder Anton Brady heads for League One Stranraer.

Last week, the club announced on Twitter that Brady was available for transfer and Aitken revealed his former club Stranraer are set to take him on at Stair Park.

The 27-year-old has found his game time limited during a second spell at K-Park and the former St Mirren man is now moving on after a sit down with the gaffer.

Aitken said: "I told all the guys that what they will get off of me is complete honesty.

"I spoke to Anton last week and he felt it was time to play games of football.

"I couldn't guarantee him that and I said that to him, so he decided to go and get more football, which I totally understand.

"I said I'd help in every way and now he'll get his chance at Stranraer.

"We wish him all the best with that."

Kilby play Broomhill tonight in the Lowland League and will be without two players due to positive Covid tests.

And Aitken is keen to bring in a fresh face to bolster the squad.

He added: "I'm looking to have another signing come in either tomorrow or Thursday.

"We can still sign players after today anyway, so there's no big rush.

"It will be a forward player and we need to keep the squad healthy.

"With the Covid situation, we want to be as strong as we can be."
