East Kilbride boss expecting to ring changes for St Anthony's cup tie

East Kilbride boss Stevie Aitken admits he will ring the changes for tomorrow's Challenge Cup second round tie with St Anthony's.

The Lowland League leaders head to the West of Scotland League side off the back of some big games against fellow title hopefuls Kelty Hearts and Bo'ness United.

And with injuries impacting the squad as well, gaffer Stevie Aitken admits the cup tie will give the opportunity to give some fringe players a chance and help some on the way back from injury.

Aitken, who was frustrated by his side's failure to take their chance against Bo'ness in the league last week, said: "There's guys desperate to get games who have been doing well in training and, with the cup game coming up, it gives us a chance to freshen things up.

"We will look at this week to guys who need games, guys like Sean Winter, Anton Brady.

"And we will maybe look at a formation change and try to get more men up the park to see if players can take all these chances we are creating.

"Steven Old has started back training and we are hoping to have Tom Leighton back after a wee injury.

"We feel we've not had the chance to get a settled team.

"But we are looking forward to the game."

Kick-off at McKenna Park is 1.30pm and the game will be played behind closed doors.
