East Fife manager sent off for tripping opposition player as he took throw in

Some managers want to kick every ball when they watch their team from the sidelines.

East Fife gaffer Darren Young took that feeling one step further though when he decided to wipe out Airdrieonians' player Scott Robertson.

In a scene more reminiscent of a comedy caper, Robertson was tripped when he was about to take a throw in in the first half of their League One match on Saturday - much to some onlookers delight.

The referee took a dim view of the offence though, sending the gaffer to the stands to have a long, hard think about what he'd done.

Robertson was booked for his reaction to the out-of-the-blue tackle, although it seems fair given the surprise he must have got.

East Fife's goalkeeping coach Lindsay Hamilton was also sent off in the fracas.

The game finished 0-0 with neither side able to find a breakthrough.
