East Fife boss Darren Young pulls back the curtain on modern day pre-season training - lower league podcast

"When I was full-time it was eight weeks we had off," he told the

"Don't get me wrong I was a fit wee guy and there wasn't really too much to me, but you could see some of the older guys and you though 'they have had a right good summer'.

"I think now you have your sport science stuff and if you come in overweight you get your body fats taken and things like that. I think everyone is a lot more conscious.

"If you aren't fit and ready to go you lose your place in the team, it's as simple as that. Nowadays you can see that.

"There isn't really hiding place now."
