East Carolina’s offense has to find something in a big hurry … and it won’t.
The attack hasn’t been able to score more than 24 points against any FBS team, it’s not good enough at controlling the clock, and it doesn’t have the efficient passing game to keep up with a UCF offense that’s looking to find its groove again.
The Knights struggled to get going in a disappointing and sloppy loss to Cincinnati, but it’ll be the defense that takes over with too many big plays in the backfield. ECU doesn’t control games and isn’t going to come up with enough third down plays to keep up, and UCF will hit on just enough downfield big plays to open it up in the second quarter.
Get ready for the theme of missed ECU third down try after missed try. UCF leads the AAC in third down conversions, and the Pirates won’t have any answers to keep the chains moving. Expect this to be over just after halftime.
