East Belfast Orange Lodge and band visit care homes

An East Belfast Orange Lodge and band have brought the Twelfth celebrations to care home residents.

Orange Lodge 1053 and The Star of the North band visited a series of care homes across East Belfast today so that they would be able to join in the festivities this year.

Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the Twelfth celebrations have been very different this year as lodges and bands are unable to march like they traditionally would.

Instead it has been bringing the Twelfth to local communities, holding small events all over Belfast.

Bringing along a horse and carriage, the Ballyhackamore Lodge and its accompanying band put on these demonstrations at a number of care homes so that the residents would not miss out.

They played a selection of different songs for the residents and staff before presenting a bouquet of flowers to care home staff member Fiona Martin.
