Two East Ayrshire schools have closed after a water main burst this morning.
Both Nether Robertland Primary and Stewarton Academy have been affected by the incident.
Council chiefs say that transport has been organised for 1.30pm and 2pm to take pupils home.
Schools are contacting parents directly and supervision is available.
A spokesperson for East Ayrshire Council said: "Stewarton Academy and Nether Robertland Primary School and ECC are having to close due to a burst water main affecting the water supply to both schools.
"Schools are contacting parents directly. Parents/Carers should make arrangements to collect children from school from 1pm, if possible.
"Lunches are available and transport is being rearranged for children normally transported to and from school.
"Children will be supervised at school until collected.
"Please call the relevant school if you do NOT wish your child to access the emergency transport. Updates will be provided throughout the day.
"Apologies for any inconvenience this has caused."
East Ayrshire Council bosses said they don't know when the school is likely to reopen.
