East Ayrshire school pupils and teachers are to be tested for coronavirus upon their return to the classroom.
The measures have been put in place as the education chiefs try to limit the spread of COVID-19.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced earlier this month that if prevalence of the deadly bug continues to decrease then early years pupils and senior students due to sit exams could return along with nurseries from Monday, February 22.
One secondary school, Loudoun Academy, has organised for senior pupils to collect a batch of testing kits this Friday with students able to pick up the items from Galston Primary, Hurlford Primary, Darvel Primary, Newmilns Primary and Fenwick Primary at specific times.
Pupils collecting tests have to maintain two-metre physical distancing at all times and students, parents and carers are asked to wear a face covering at all times when waiting for consent forms and kits.
Those collecting kits have also been asked to bring their own pen also to avoid cross contamination.
A letter sent to students and parents from Loudoun Academy reads: "Pupils can begin testing from the week beginning February 22 and can request additional tests when they run out.
"Additional kits can be requested via the school office when pupils are in attendance in school.
"We ask that pupils keep stock of their test kits and collect new ones when they only have one left.
"Loudoun Academy staff will be contacting pupils next week to inform them if they are required to attend school from the 22nd to participate in practical subjects.
"Contact will be made prior to Friday, February 19 so pupils know if they are eligible to participate."
East Ayrshire Council revealed this week that testing kits will be issued to staff and pupils who are physically attending school.
Head teachers will decide which pupils this applies to and parental consent will be sought before self-test kits are issued.
An East Ayrshire Council spokeswoman said: "Schools and early childhood centres (attached to schools) are in the process of receiving testing for staff and senior phase pupils.
"Kits will only be issued to staff and pupils where they are physically attending schools.
"Individual head teachers will determine which pupils this would apply to and thereafter seek parental/pupil consent to issue them with the self-tests.
"Tests are only at the delivery stage therefore we are unable to comment on potential uptake at this time."
The First Minister is expected to update Scottish Parliament on lockdown measures and plans to reopen schools on Tuesday.
