East Ayrshire pupils performed “very well” in exams, according to education boss

East Ayrshire youngsters performed “very well” in their exams, said an education boss.

Thousands of students received their exam results last week.

While the early indications suggest that pupils performed well, the full extent of the results will not be known until late September, when all of the information is collated through a national platform.

Graham McGinn from East Ayrshire Council told the Kilmarnock Standard: “I’d like to congratulate all of our young people on their achievements.

“Early indications suggest that young people in East Ayrshire have again performed very well.

“The full details of young people’s achievements are collated via the national Insight platform and detailed information will be available in late September.

“Any young person who may wish to discuss their results should contact their school for support, advice or any additional guidance they may require.”

As students learned how they fared in National 5, Higher or Advanced Higher exams, a national charity called for wellbeing to come first on results day.

Youngsters can visit skillsdevelopmentscotland.co.uk to assess options and opportunities.
