Adelaide has been rattled by a small earthquake for the second time this month.

GeoScience Australia reported the magnitude-2.8 tremor around 7pm with the epicentre around Mount Barker, in the Adelaide Hills.

A magnitude-3.8 tremor was recorded in the same location on March 6, with an aftershock a couple of hours later.

More than 2,000 felt reports were made to GeoScience Australia within 90 minutes of the earthquake.

Its website shows the tremor was felt across metropolitan Adelaide, as far north as Gawler and as far south as Meningie.
