
An earthquake that struck off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture at 11:07 p.m. on Saturday was confirmed to have injured a total of 102 people as of 10 a.m. on Sunday, including 37 people in Miyagi Prefecture, 52 people in Fukushima Prefecture, and 3 people each in Ibaraki and Tochigi Prefectures, according to a tally by the Yomiuri Shimbun.
A large landslide occurred 3 kilometers north of the Soma Interchange on the Joban Expressway in Soma, Fukushima Prefecture, blocking lanes in both directions. Several excavators have been dispatched to the site to remove the sand and soil.
A total of 32 buildings in Fukushima Prefecture and two buildings in Miyagi Prefecture were damaged, including some houses that collapsed. According to a summary by the Fire and Disaster Management Agency, fires broke out in Sendai and Shiogama in Miyagi Prefecture, but they have been extinguished.
