Earnings Preview: What to Expect From Caesars Entertainment's Report

Reno, Nevada-based Caesars Entertainment, Inc. (CZR) owns and operates as a gaming and hospitality company, offering casino, poker, roulette, and other gaming facilities and provides food and beverage services. Valued at $6.2 billion by market cap, the company owns, leases, or manages domestic properties in 18 states and utilizes its hotels, restaurants, bars, entertainment, racing, sportsbook offerings, retail shops, and other services. The casino entertainment company is expected to announce its fiscal second-quarter earnings for 2025 after the market closes on Tuesday, Jul. 29.

Ahead of the event, analysts expect CZR to report a profit of $0.10 per share on a diluted basis, up from a loss of $0.56 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company missed the consensus estimates in three of the last four quarters while beating the forecast on another occasion.

For the full year, analysts expect CZR to report EPS of $0.03, up 105.5% from a loss of $0.55 per share in fiscal 2024. Its EPS is expected to rise significantly year over year to $0.96 in fiscal 2026.

CZR’s weakness across all segments along with its failure to curb rising operating and interest expenses has led to its underperformance.

On Apr. 29, CZR reported its Q1 results, and its shares closed down more than 3% in the following trading session. Its loss of $0.54 per share missed Wall Street expectations of a loss of $0.19 per share. The company’s revenue was $2.79 billion, beating Wall Street forecasts of $2.78 billion.

Analysts’ consensus opinion on CZR stock is bullish, with a “Strong Buy” rating overall. Out of 15 analysts covering the stock, 12 advise a “Strong Buy” rating, and three give a “Hold.” CZR’s average analyst price target is $41.07, indicating a potential upside of 38.8% from the current levels.
