Calling all small business owners! For a limited time (until August 8th 2018) the The Business Platinum® Card from American Express OPEN, one of my favorite all around cards, is offering an elevated sign-up bonus of up to 100,000 Membership Rewards points. I value this bonus at ~$1,900 in free travel, which is a sizable upgrade over the standard bonus of up to 75,000 points/~$1,425. The bonus is broken down into two tiers and requires quite a bit of spending to max out:
- Earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $10,000 in your first 3 months
- Earn another 50,000 points after spending an additonal $15,000 in your first 3 months
Not only is the $25,000 in spend incredibly high, but you only have 3 months from account opening to complete it. Remember, this card is made for small businesses so it is possible to have that much in expenses.
While the Platinum Card® from American Express comes in several different varieties, the business version has a $450 fee while still offering almost all of the fabulous Platinum perks. These include:
- $200 annual airline credit to be used for incidental fees with one qualifying airline
- 5x points on flights and pre-paid hotels booked through Amex travel
- Access to Centurion lounges and Delta Sky Clubs (when flying on Delta)
- Priority Pass membership with 2 free guests
- Up to a $100 credit for Global Entry/TSA PreCheck application fee
- Gold elite status with Hilton Honors and SPG (which will be converted to Marriott gold in the new program)
- Access to the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts program
In addition to having the highest Platinum sign-up bonus right now, the Business Platinum stands out for a few other reasons:
- Earn 1.5x points on purchases of $5,000 or more, up to 1 million bonus points a year
- Earn a 35% rebate when you pay with points on any first or business class ticket, or economy tickets with the airline of your choice.
Another great reason to get the Business Platinum is that it has a lower fee than the personal version, $450 instead of $550. And remember that if you max out your annual airline credit, your effective out of pocket cost will go down to $250. That’s a steal to get the business card with the most travel benefits, from hotel elite status to airport lounge access and more. Just remember to take advantage of this offer before August 8, 2018, so you can start planning where your 100,000 Membership Rewards points will take you.
