Early voting for the June 28 primary is now open across all of the city’s 50 wards.

Voters can choose any site, regardless of where they live in the city, according to the Chicago Board of Elections.

The first early voting site opened May 31 at 191 N. Clark St. Early voting in the city was supposed to begin May 19 but was delayed to accommodate late changes to the ballot.

Early voting will run through June 27. The early voting sites will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Voters have until June 23 to apply for a mail ballot. The election board has received 107,015 applications for mail ballots and 9,832 mailed ballots have been returned.

“You never know what unexpected circumstances may arise closer to Election Day. And if you’re planning on a summer vacation in the coming weeks, choose to vote by mail. We have made it easy and convenient for any voter to request and return their ballot,” said Marisel Hernandez, chair of the Board of Election Commissioners.
