Early stage property renovation business appoints non-executive director to help guide growth

Property renovation company Homey has appointed an experienced property executive to its board.

Mark Coulter has become a non-executive director of the Livingston-based business which helps homeowners to renovate and defer payment for the work done until sale settlement.

Coulter was previously a director at Savills, managing director at Lindsays, and the founder of Coulters. He now runs Ellison’s, a boutique property consultancy.

Homey founder Zishan Ashraf said: “Mark brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience within property and business and in driving significant growth.

“His expertise in building long term partnerships will be crucial as we grow across the UK.

Mark Coulter said: “I am honoured to be joining Homey at such an exciting time as they scale across the UK.

“Homey fills a huge gap in the market for current owners looking to maximise the profit out of their biggest asset whilst providing a deferred payment option.

“I see Homey becoming a national brand providing value to homeowners, estate agents, and contractors.’

Ashraf said that the firm specialises in pre-sale renovations and aims to help customers renovated, on the market and sold in a few weeks.

He said: “We believe in our service enough that we only get paid when you do; upon sale settlement.

“Our contractor managers manage the whole process from start to finish whilst you receive daily updates through our platform.

“We deal with ordering materials, scheduling deliveries, dealing with architects and planning, selecting the right vetted contractors, and the renovations which maximise ROI [return on investment]. We then work with the estate agent to help them sell.”
