Early stage energy company appoints new chief financial officer

Clydebank-based Together Energy has appointed a new chief financial officer.

Vincent Goldie who has a 20-year plus career in financial services takes up the board level role.

He was formerly head of finance as part of the start-up team for motor insurance broker Sure Thing, which he helped to grow to 100,000 customers and a £40 million premium book.

A qualified accountant, he previously worked for AXA and Kwik-Fit Insurance.

Goldie said: “Throughout the whole recruitment process I knew I wanted to be part of the team here as everyone was so welcoming and I could see the huge potential for the company, and given my start-up experience the role is an excellent fit.

“I also love what the company stands for in terms of its morals and ethics.”

He joins chief executive Paul Richards, chief operating officer Kevin Greenhorn and director Professor Steven Broomhead on the board.

Richards said, “It’s been a wild 12 months in the sector. We have ambitious plans and Vincent’s start-up experience will be invaluable to helping us manage our growth and deliver our first-year profitability.”

Headquartered in Clydebank, Together Energy offers low priced dual energy tariffs for up to a three-year fixed term.

Founded by Richards, a former British Gas executive in 2016, the company has grown to record an £85 million turnover, employing 140 people, with more than 150,000 customer accounts.
