Early morning train fault causing problems on East Kilbride line

A train fault is causing disruption on the East Kilbride rail line this morning.

ScotRail are reporting of the early morning issue which will impact on the service.

That means trains may be delayed and services usually serviced by six carriages will be served by four.

Those serviced by four will also be serviced by just two carriages. During the busy commuters hours, passengers may struggle to get a seat.

To stay up to date on this, head to scotrail.co.uk or use their app.

Meanwhile, despite gritters on standby in some areas because of the cold start to the morning, no major issues have been reported on the main routes serving East Kilbride.

Driving conditions are reported as fine.

All routes are currently operating as normal, with no major incidents, but watch out for the usual congestion on the M74 at the Polmadie slip-road, Raith Interchange, Maryville, and Fullarton Road interchange.

Motorists on the M77 can expect the usual congestion at Newton Mearns, Darnley and Barrhead Road slip roads.
