Early blooming cherry trees reach their peak in Shizuoka

About 850 early-blossoming cherry trees in full bloom line both sides of the Kawazu River in Kawazu, Shizuoka Prefecture on Wednesday. Locals and visitors strolled along an about four-kilometer stretch lined with Kawazu-zakura, whose blossom daubed the riverbank in a spectacular shade of pink.
