Earliest date you can go on holidays abroad in 2021 according to Boris Johnson's roadmap plan

Boris Johnson has revealed his roadmap out of lockdown, with restrictions set to ease over the next few months.

The Prime Minister said that schools would be the first thing to return on March 8, with outdoor sports and socialising following next.

Further lockdown easing will be dependant on four tests, with the government closely looking at the data before making a decision to unlock.

The government will look at the success of the vaccine rollout, evidence of vaccine efficacy, new variants and infection rates before deciding whether to ease restrictions.

Lots of people are keen to get away on holiday, either in the UK or abroad and the Prime Minister said today when this might be possible in the roadmap.

Currently it is illegal for people to leave the UK to go on holiday, with fines for those breaking the rules.

Under the roadmap released today the Prime Minister laid out when people might be able to go on holiday again.

People might be able to go on holiday in the UK with their own household as early as April.

However from May 17 International travel could also begin to start again, subject to a review.
