Earlier easing of Qld Virus restrictions

Restrictions including mandatory mask-wearing will ease for Queenslanders from 6am on Thursday. (AAP)

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced the easing of restrictions across the state as of 6am Thursday morning.

After meeting with the chief health officer and minister for health, the premier has moved forward the easing of restrictions from midday Thursday 15 April, to 6am that day.

Masks:

*Will not be required unless at the airport or when flying.

While not mandatory, Queenslanders are advised to:

*Carry a mask with you at all times when you leave home

*Wear a mask when travelling on public transport, in a taxi, rideshare or in shopping centres.

*Wear a mask in any indoor or outdoor space when physical distancing is not possible.

Aged Care, Hospitals and Disability care:

*As of 6am Thursday, families are allowed to visit loved ones in aged care, hospitals and disability care services.

Gatherings:

*Pubs, clubs and hospitality services will allow standing whilst eating and drinking both inside and outside, and dancing is now permitted.

*Stadiums, theatres and cinemas can operate at 100 per-cent capacity and gatherings of up to 100 people will be allowed at private residences.

*Weddings and funerals can have up to 200 people or one person per two square metres.
