Earl Thomas has message for Seattle fans as he heads to Baltimore

Seattle Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas is headed to Baltimore, intending to sign a four-year deal worth $55 million with the Ravens at the start of the new league year.

Thomas posted a message on Twitter for his fans following the news he’s out the door: “Thank you Seattle for the love and memories that my family and I will never forget…”

The tweet has thousands of likes and mostly positive replies from 12s, wishing him well on his new adventures and thanking him for his time in the Emerald City.

Thomas was originally selected by the Seahawks in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft and has spent his entire career in Seattle. Over nine seasons, Thomas has been named to six Pro Bowls, three AP All-Pro teams and appeared for the Seahawks in two Super Bowls.

Thomas’ new contract can become official after 1 p.m. PT on Wednesday after the official start of free agency and the new league year.
