Eamonn reduces Ruth to tears on This Morning as she apologises to bosses

Ruth Langsford was forced to apologise to her This Morning bosses through tears on Wednesday after husband Eamonn Holmes had her in hysterics.

Unlike on Tuesday, when the show was plagued with technical hitches, things were running smoothly for Eamonn and Ruth on Wednesday, until the camera cut to them after a feature and Ruth was seen struggling to keep composure as she wiped tears away.

As Eamonn held a tablet next to her, Ruth explained that, while she couldn't give the full story, she was left in a state after someone sent a photo of Eamonn in and said his neck looked like something she couldn't say on air.

Eamonn turned to her and said: "What? You can't just leave people hanging there," adding: "'Stop showing me that' she says."

Struggling to gain any sort of composure, Ruth told viewers at home: "Someone sent in a picture of Eamonn and if you zoom in on his neck it looks..." before Eamonn interrupted: "No, no don't do that!"

Still in total hysterics, Ruth was unable to read her lines from the autocue and instructed Eamonn to take over.

As bosses waited for Ruth and Eamonn, who will end their This Morning presenting stint on Friday, to lead into Alison and Josie's Staycation Showdown, Ruth was still struggling to get her words out, apologising to producers for her laughing fit and telling her other half: "You'll have to do that!"

People watching at home were just as amused as Ruth, with one taking to Twitter to post: "I’m crying with you Ruth, laughter is the best!!"

Echoing the same sentiments, another posted: "CRYING with Ruth," and, wishing they weren't ending their stint as main This Morning presenters on Friday, a third reacted: "Can we keep Ruth and Eamonn for another six weeks please"
