Eamonn Holmes fears he only has four years left to live after dad's death at 64

Eamonn Holmes says he tries to make the most of life but cannot help worrying he only has four years left.

The 60-year-old presenter of This Morning alongside wife Ruth Langsford said he was desperate to achieve more given his dad was only a bit older than him when he died.

He said: “My father was dead at 64. He died of a heart attack.

“That gives me four years. Ruth says, ‘Don’t talk like that,’ but you do think like that.”

Speaking on The Journey podcast with Pete Snodden, he added: “There’s projects that I crave and I’ve got interests in lots of things."

He added: “There are things I would like to do. I’d like to do biopics on people. I would like to interview Clint Eastwood.”

Holmes has previously told how he has been liberated by a hearing aid after going through what he called “manopause”.

He said his health had declined, adding: “I’m not a superhuman. But I have a positivity, a lust for life. I don’t feel that I want to slow up.”

Holmes, who had a double hip replacement in 2016, found he had lost 30% of his hearing around his 50th birthday.

Ruth has revealed how Liz Hurley advised him to do squats while brushing his teeth to help with his back issues.

She said: “Every morning he has another woman on his mind – Elizabeth Hurley. They met at a lunch, and he’s literally bending over backwards for her.”
