Eamonn Holmes has opened up about the terrifying moment he feared for his life after suffering a serious fall in his bathroom.
The veteran broadcaster, 65, admitted on GB News that the accident, which happened last week, left him in agony and fearing he was “dead”.
The Northern Irish presenter shared that he suffered the “sorest and most powerful” knock to his head that he had ever experienced.
The former This Morning host had already revealed on Instagram that he had been hospitalised following the fall, but has now spoken in more detail about what happened.
He explained that he slipped on his wet bathroom floor, adding: “I was very worried about me. [I] fell on the bathroom floor and once I was down, I couldn’t get up.”
“It was the worst bang to my head and shoulder,” he added.

“I went down and I said, ‘I’m dead’ I have never had a bang to the head as sore and as powerful as that before. I lay there and I thought, ‘Where’s the blood?’
“There was nothing, no blood, no split, nothing like that.”
Holmes said he was fortunate to have his phone within reach and was able to call for an ambulance.
He was taken to hospital where he’s been recovering.
On Friday, he posted a photo from inside the ambulance with the caption: “An unexpected journey this morning.
“Bit of a fall on the bathroom floor. Gosh, it hurts. Thank you ambulance crew.”
He later shared a selfie from his hospital bed, writing: “Not how I wanted to be spending The Holiday weekend …… but life’s not easy these days [sad face emoji]. Thanks to everybody who is looking after me.”
The presenter has faced a string of health struggles in recent years.
He underwent double hip replacement surgery in 2016 and, in 2022, had spinal surgery to fix a long-standing back issue caused by a slipped disc.
